Loose Teas

Estate Black Tea
These estate teas are exceptional, and because of this there is a very limited amount available of each.

China Black Tea
The process for making black tea involves withering, rolling, sorting, fermentation (known as oxidation), firing, and grading. Initially, the fresh-picked green leaves are spread out on racks for several hours to wither. This results in the leaf losing about half of its moisture and becoming flaccid.

Oolong & White Tea
Only the youngest leaves are picked to make white tea. These tender shoots are covered in the fine white hair/down which will be preserved in the processing, and gives the final tea a silvery appearance.

Green Tea
Unlike in black and oolong production, the purpose in making green tea is to preserve the natural substances that are in the leaf. This is done as quickly as possible after the leaf is picked, by either steaming or pan drying.

Specialty Blends
Tea offers more taste profiles than any other beverage in the world. Singularly, a tea and a wine would share most of the taste spectrum. However, when you begin to blend teas, the number of tastes becomes endless.

Flavoured Black Tea
The process for making black tea involves withering, rolling, sorting, fermentation (known as oxidation), firing, and grading. Initially, the fresh-picked green leaves are spread out on racks for several hours to wither. This results in the leaf losing about half of its moisture and becoming flaccid.

Rooibos & Honeybush
Rooibos tea is a natural herb unique to the South African Cedarberg Mountains. During the summer months the Rooibos plants are harvested, fermented and dried in nature's laboratory. Pure mineral water, fresh mountain air and the hot African sun induces the change from verdant green to the mahogany red of Rooibos tea.

Herbal & Fruit Infusions
Naturally caffeine free, Winston's herb and fruit infusions are low in calories but high in flavour. As with all infusions you can enjoy them hot or cold.

Organic Selection
These teas are all grown without the use of chemicals or fertilizers. They match their Green and Black partners in character.

Decaffeinated Tea
Decaffeinated tea is found in all leaf grades and a great variety of flavors.
